The End

There's a time when every great show comes to an end, every song trails off into its last notes and every curtain needs to fall.

Funky Cookies was started 2 years ago, a brainchild of 2 friends then, who wanted to chronicle their eating and cooking adventures. Over 2 years, it has changed from a foodblog to a mish-mash blog and so I figured it was probably time for the curtain to fall on Funky Cookies.

Missed Yoga

I missed yoga last night due to my late night at work. I feel bad not sweating it out like I should instead of sitting down to a late hearty dinner. Worse we've paid for 10 classes so I'm not sure how my missed classes would work out. I have to really make it next week otherwise it'll not be good for both my health and pocket. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother staying back when there's so much crap happening here at times.

Just got to be insistent and leave when I have to, I guess. Priorities...

Priorities

It isn't easy juggling a few blogs and trying to think of what to write. Plus of course, work! It's nice to see where my priorities lie! :p Luckily the parents have given us a firm and good foundation in language and writing skills which we enjoy doing so doing sponsored posts sometimes isn't really "work". Rather it's the ability to crap on and on, just like this! Heh!

Not Enough

My oats that dad makes me for breakfast nowadays doesn't fill me up anymore. This is really odd because when I first started eating them, it'll last me all the way to lunch and sometimes even past lunch! But now I start getting the munchies around 10am which isn't good because I'll start looking for snacks and the snacks available around here are hardly healthy. Wonder if my appetite has increased. If it has, this is terrible news! Must diet!

Rented my Carpark

I finally managed to rent out my spare car park. Hurrah! It's not a huge lot of money but any extra pocket money is always good. Plus, as it's a car park, I don't need to worry about the maintenance or someone else spoiling it during their usage. It's funny but KL is starting to become like cities all over the world. Even an empty space now can be more valuable than a house in a remote town.

Great Singapore Sale

The Great Singapore Sale is starting! I've been seeing advertisements and hearing blurbs about it over the radio and on other blogs. I'm really keen on going this year as I've never been for it. Am hoping some things I'm eyeing will be on a discounted price good enough for me to consider! Unfortunately, I haven't found a shopping buddy yet. Anyone?

Opportunites

Payperpost has been dropping their opportunities for bloggers on blogspot now. When I log in most of the time, all I see are grey or red telling me that most of the opportunities have been taken. It's sad to see that because sometimes I've stayed up after a long day just to try to grab some opportunities. Sometimes I get lucky and manage to grab some but I think they're only releasing very few opportunities as it'll be lost if my page loads slowly. I do wish they'll put up more for bloggers on blogspot.

Great Bargains

Don't you love great bargains? I do! And I would willingly to go hot and sweaty warehouse sales, fight with fierce aunties and bear with the dust and dirt just to get my bargains! We went to a warehouse sale last weekend. It was stifling, the crowd was crazy and the clothes everywhere but when I went away 2 hours later clutching a huge bag of Giodarno clothes for a mere RM80, I knew it was all worth it!

Running Low

My car's been running low on petrol these past few days. Pumping petrol nowadays is a bit of a pain as there's no convenient Shell around anymore unlike when we lived in USJ. Now, we only have Mobil and BP around our new area of which I'm not used to using. So I usually pump small amounts, hoping to fill her up when I next see a Shell station but of course, forget until the light is blinking at me again! Sigh...I'm terrible at taking care of my new baby!

Freebies are good!

Sometimes at lunch when I'm not too hungry, I usually go for a walkabout around the mall. There are heaps of freebies and samples all around the supermarket to try and those little things all add up so even though I claim I'm not hungry, I end up being quite full after my walkabout! Last night at the cinema, we were offered tiny packs of M&Ms in conjuction with Shrek 3's opening. Hehe...freebies are always good!

Sale Time

It's sale time in Malaysia again. We have sales here practically every alternate month. Any time's a good time for a sale! Whether it's school holidays, beginning of school term, public holidays, increment day, bonus day...bring them on! Sometimes it's good because you never need to wait very long for the thing you want to go on discount. Sometimes it's bad because you just see the same things being recycled over and over again at the sale. Win some, lose some.

Wednesday Night Out

We went out for a movie last night. Wednesday night is a great movie night 'cos tickets go for a mere RM7. The only thing is that since they're so cheap I usually have to try to get them on Monday when they go on sale 2 days earlier. Last night we caught a hilarious movie called Blades of Glory. It was in one of the smaller cinemas and I was initially worried when we walked into an empty cinema. Luckily it started filling up before the show started. Anyway, no spoilers...it's a really good side-splitter so go catch it if you want a good laugh!

PPP Payment

I'm waiting eagerly for my first payment from Payperpost! They pay out on a monthly basis and it has been less than a month since I've done my very first post for them. Now I'm waiting eagerly as I watch the days count down to my first payment from them. What a fun past time this is! The chance to earn some money while doing what I enjoy most - writing! Now I can start thinking of what I'll like to buy with my very first payout from Payperpost!

High Precision

I know is a welder who has been very successful in his business. Recently he expanded his business and was looking for more sophisticated equipment to stock his shop with. I visited his shop last week and he showed me a new plasma cutting machine he recently got which does a fantastic and precise job for his sheet metal pieces. I was truly impressed by the level of precision the machine had. Hopefully with this new machine, his business continues to grow.

Yellow Men

Have you ever seen the Digi advertisements on telly? The ones with the yellow men running all over the place to the strains of "I Will Follow You"? We have our very own yellow men here in the office too! Yellow shirted men who come in to repair our computers or networks whenever there is a problem, which is very often! They're our outsourced IT people which also means that the problem never gets fixed immediately. Sometimes I wonder if it'll just be cheaper to have a proper IT guy!

Working Late

I've been working late these past few weeks. It's a bit of a pain because the office building management switches off the lifts after 7pm, sans the lifts in one block of buildings which is a distance away. That also means I'll have to meander my way through the carpark by myself to get to my car. The world has become a dangerous place nowadays and you can never be too safe or too careful. I wish they would extend their hours till 8pm at least.

Messy Desk

Equals a messy mind! My desk is in a terrible state. Papers and files are stacked up high and my filing's screwed. Can't find a single thing! I really need a good filing system! Sometimes I wonder how secretaries manage to do filing and find everything their boss wants. Then again, that's probably what they teach them at secretary school. They forget that today with all these technological gadgets such as Palms, emails, 3G and Blackberries, secretaries are a dying breed! Sigh..need to clear desk!

Hairy Issues

I just had lunch with an school friend last night and was shocked to see how different he looked. He used to have a lovely head of thick black hair when he was in school but now that head was only sparsely coated with strands of hair! He told me that was what 10 years in the audit industry had left with him with. I was truly sympathetic as we used to admire his thick hair and told him he should just get a Hair Transplant done. He was actually already considering that and after we discussed it, he left looking much happier. I hope to see a different person when I next see him!

Ms. Plastic

I was recently having a debate with my sis on plastic surgery after we watched the Ms Universe pageant. We were wondering if any of the contestants ever had plastic surgery, considering the popularity of plastic surgery today, and whether the organizers would disqualify them if they did. Sometimes it’s scary to see how common plastic surgery is.

I have friends jetting off on a beauty holiday to their plastic surgeon in Los Angeles to do small jobs such as nose jobs or breast augmentation. Others fly off to reputable clinics, such as Rodeo Drive located all over California, that promise one of the most reputable and professional plastic surgeons in California. In fact, if you’re interested, they advise you to contact them to schedule an appointment with their plastic surgeon in California.

Coming back to our debate, do you think beauty queens and contestants today secretly visit Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery Los Angeles too?

No More Cup DD

Do you remember Dolly Parton? The popular country singer who was more famous for her huge breasts than her songs? She underwent several operations to increase her breast size until it was reported that her spine couldn’t handle the weight and had to be surgically strengthened. Although not as drastic, I have heard of people who have complained of their generous breast size. In fact, a friend with a Cup DD size recently went to a Beverly Hills breast reduction clinic. She said had it done after she found that her breast size made sports and buying clothes difficult.

When I asked how she knew about this procedure, she told me that her sister went to a similar Los Angeles breast reduction clinic to have her breasts surgically reduced as well. Hers was for medical reasons after a California Plastic Surgeon advised her to have them reduced to protect her spine from unnecessary pressure.

This was the first time I’d heard of such a procedure but after seeing my friend’s happy face when we went out shopping for tight tees, I’m glad she’s happy with her breast size now.
